Francesco Mazzi,

Italian artist resident in Japan (where he opened an art gallery,MAZZI FINE ART  created on

MF logo and registered an international patent, the 3D FRAME PUSH UP)

presents his works “out of the frame "to the world of art. Making use of of the collaboration of a craftsman who produces the frames using the best japanese wood, the works of him, no more forced inside the frames, they "come out" and stand out more, also emphasizing the details made with gold and precious stones. Here comes the innovation by Mazzi, the aforementioned 3D FRAME PUSH UP, transforms the frame into a stage where art is exhibited. Mazzi is

convinced that art has its own memory and reaches a degree of "experience",as it happens to us: his works of art

they are all full of meaning and are born right from historical memory. In the realization, the artist is inspired by the myths and to legends to create items with a memory and own strength. Thanks to his ,he always lies in search of novelty, he creates elegant, unconventional works which evoke mystical attraction.

Passionate about history and archeology, he shows the aesthetic qualities of ancient times

like an ancestral memory that he takes

life through his philosophy and experience: admiring his works, of enchantment

all the inputs of modern life come

annihilated by making our “I” emerge

primordial". Minimal and sophisticated works,

with a very strong ancient message, but

at the same time contemporary.

Vincenzo Chetta: Good morning Francesco

and thank you very much for accepting ours

interview. How is the life of the gallerist e

of the artist in Japan?

Francesco Mazzi: Good morning Vincenzo e

thank you for your interest. For over 15 years i have lived in this magical country, and

I'm sure i could not have opened Mazzi Fine Art elsewhere, there is nothing else

country where ancient traditions and modernity

they have always lived together. Not known differences

in creating between Japan and Italy, but affinities due to the incredible historical heritage

full of myths and legends of these countries, where

in both of them I feel at home. The gallery owner is

Maki Saegusa, my partner and wife.

She has a level past being a daughter of art,

the famous painter grandfather, her father architect and

the gallery owner mother; she takes care of the whole side

commercial of the company, through the

her sensitivity and intuition immediately understand her tastes

of customers and she knows how to address them. In the past

she studied in Florence, and her preparation

artistic is special.

V.C .: Why did you decide to open the Gallery in Osaka?

F.M.: Osaka Bay offered us the best options, proximity to the international airport and a beautiful style villa

japanese with the inner garden. Here we have developed an unconventional gallery, the atelier, the office and the home.

V.C.: How was the original 3D FRAME PUSH UP born and what effect does it have on the work?

F.M.: It is the will of a new beginning, that of communicating an artistic language never

existed before. From the desire to interpret

your time and thinking about the future, the canvas is mounted externally and released

from the classic function of the frame, which it turns into a stage where the opera is exhibited.

The symbiotic relationship works thanks to the particular reliefs and colors of the creation that communicate with the loom, too worked and decorated according to the vision of Mazzi Fine Art, which holds the rights to this utility model.

V.C.: Innovative also in the use of materials such as 24K gold, platinum, diamonds and antique woods, tell me how they are combined with traditional painting oil.

F.M.: In my case, oil painting becomes an "alchemy of precious textures".

Being self taught I got to experiment and think outside the box.

I treat these precious materials as ingredients, through their precise calibration i reach superior aesthetic standards

unusual, where the appearance of the work recalls a sculpture and its textures, metals.

V.C.: You yourself define your paintings a big investment ...

F.M.: They are an art based on the new relationship between canvas and frame, it has been defined as "total art".

I create a few pieces a year, sold almost immediately, each work is unique and accomplished with the best possible materials. Usage rare oil paints and mixed techniques, which give life to unique works. An MF is meant to last, an important object that fluctuates between the work of art and the brand;in less of 2 years i have exceeded the hundred pieces sold, who initially bought and shared my vision now finds and value

initial almost quadrupled.

V.C.: What is your work to which you are most fond and why?

F.M.: The next opera is always the most important, an intellectual work applied to the aesthetic arts where genius and
vision meet, it is perfect as only man will never be able to achieve it.

I live in an area called Lunigiana,

land very ancient also called “land of the moon ”after visiting several sites, I think to the femininity and beauty of this star and to the cults dedicated to her, i would also like to celebrate her, especially her "her skin" ...
V.C.: Do you have an artist you prefer?
F.M.: I have great respect for many artists for what they have created and still today
represent. I also think that every art of beauty tries to create what he believes
better for the weather and the environment that surrounds it.

In terms of preferences as a man of the 21st century, I would speak of a historical period more than names. From prehistoric times to age of metals, rock art and architecture stone related to places of worship: I am fascinated by the simplicity of the signs and their value communicative, created by still men impervious to the concept of art as aesthetic discipline, but devoted to objects propitiatory and magical.

Although they do not represent my thoughts in absolute terms, they are a source of inspiration for the philosophy

Mazzi Fine Art “looking to the past we shape the future ".

V.C.: Tell us about the work "Onda d’Amor",a tribute to the master Hokusai ...

F.M.: An impetuous and bubbling wave testifies to the ecstasy of the act of love, between the femininity of the flight of a butterfly, that yes contrasts with the virility of Mount Fuji.

The real protagonist of the work is the figure feminine and her references are many, the marine curves, the red safflower color derived from flowers symbol of strength and power used by women in ancient times, theduality of the figure of the butterfly representing the sun, like the goddess Amaterasu in Japanese culture.

V.C.: A beautiful work. What will they be the next projects of the Gallery?

F.M.: We prefer not to anticipate anything for surprise our audience. We have different projects and new ideas to make the Mazzi Fine Art the reference company for Art & Design in a future not too far.

I can only anticipate that al we are currently considering the purchase of a largest atelier in Italy ...

V.C.: We can't wait to find out more! Francesco, what advice would you give to

a young man who would like to undertake the career as an artist?

F.M.: Being an artist is a full-time job and to stand out from an unlimited offer, you have to be a professional with ideas

clear about what you want to achieve and to which customers you want to aim for. In a world socio-cultural situation where the exchange information takes place in real time, and yes the artist can buy art at all prices must think like a businessman and not just letting his impulses flow. I would advise to be brave and pragmatic, dare and innovate!

V.C.: Francesco thank you very much for your availability and attent.

We look forward to seeing you soon in Italy!
