THE RAKE JAPAN
MAZZI FINE ART
Italian artist revolutionize Japan!
Golden luxury art
An artist who has turned from a top chef to a brilliant artist presenting innovative artworks.
Creating a whirlwind
Mazzi Francesco
Born in Liguria, Italy in 1977.
After he came to Japan, he worked as an executive chef.
In February 2020, he established "MAZZI FINE ART", an art company that handles his own art works with his wife Maki Saegusa. In June 2021, a gallery that doubles as an atelier, office, and residence was newly established in Osaka. Currently, he is working on production while going back and forth between Japan and Italy.
Pelle di Sole
"Sun skin"
The vibrant continuous waves of gold in various shades on the copper panel, are reminiscent of the drape of the robe of the goddess Venus, a symbol of perfection and absolute beauty. A sculptural work that conveys the sun and vital strength, the source of universal hegemony, inspired by the waves of the sea where the goddess was born and the waves of light emitted from the sun.
The 24K gold sheet is luxuriously decorated and gives off a luxurious shine that gives luck. Both the work and the frame are full of three-dimensionality, drawing the viewer into a graceful world.
45x53.5x4.5cm canvas panel engraving, plaster, cotton, oil paint,
24K-23K-22K Pure gold foil, copper foil. The frame band is about 8 cm. The frame size is about 61x69.5cm.

Albero della Rinascita
"Rebirth Tree"
Various shades are fused to express the brightness and energy like sunrise. The relief that harmonizes to form the outline of the tree is unique. It's a very simple and minimalist work. Oil, gold, platinum, plaster and textured paste on a 41x41 x 4.5 cm canvas. The frame band is about 6 cm. The frame size is about 5 3 x 5 3 cm. ¥ 1,650,000 Mazzi Fine Art
Its beauty changes depending on the amount and angle of the incoming light and the movement of the viewer.
The delicate and gorgeous brilliance is like a one-of-a-kind high jewelry. ...... No, 24K gold, platinum, diamonds, marble, antique wood, etc. are actually used in this Artwork. It is Mazzi Francesco, an artist based in Japan and Italy, who develops bold and unique art that can be called "luxury art" in the material sense.
"Rare luxury materials carefully selected from all over the world are combined with traditional oil paintings.
Gold has fascinated people for 6000 years. It is a sublimation of human desire for eternity. Marble is made of strength and beauty by nature. My grandfather worked in a marble quarry in Carrara. Sea jewels have long been a symbol of femininity, fertility and decorative elements that purify opportunities.
” I use materials like this according to the traditions of my ancestors. "
It is said that the colors are not mixed on the palette. Adjust the gradation by placing the oil color or material directly on the canvas. Leonardo da Vinci is said to have used the same technique. Do not use many colors in one work, but carefully put only carefully selected colors so that you can pray.
The three-dimensional thickness of the work and the frame surrounding it are also original. Finished with carefully selected precious wood and paint and resin by the best Italian craftsmen, "3D Frame Push-up" is an original method that has also acquired a utility model in Japan.
"I decided to create a whole new piece of art. I needed a new approach because I thought I couldn't express the work I wanted to shape in a classical way. So I was freed from the existing approach. I created a style using 3D canvas. This is "total art". It is based on the new relationship between canvas and frame. "
He is an up-and-coming artist. In 2020, he launched the art company "MAZZI FINE ART" with his wife and partner Maki Saegusa, and released his works one after another. Although he is a new artist, he has been successful enough to win multiple awards including Italy in just one year. What surprises me is that he decided to pursue this path on his own.
"My dad was the captain of a ship that travels around the world, so I traveled around the world since I was a kid and was interested in different cultures and archeology. Art is also part of me, It was like DNA from an ancient man. "
La Cascata di Luce
"Waterfall of Light"
23K / 24K is used to express verticality, and relief expresses movement and continuity in colors reminiscent of the water of the ancient times of the creation of the earth. In every culture in the world, the modern approach of the waterfall, a symbol of purification with divine power, and the colors and shapes that are faithful to all things in the natural world stand out. Oil painting, 23K / 24K gold, structural paste on a 41x61 x 6.3 cm canvas. The frame band is about 8 cm. The frame size is about 57x77cm. ¥ 4,180,000 Mazzi Fine Art
Pelle di Drago
"Dragon skin" Dragon God ""
An auspicious work reminiscent of the skin of a dragon belonging to Japanese mythology. It is paired with another work "Dragon of the Sea" dedicated to Princess Toyoda, the daughter of the dragon god. A frame with a similar concept is also a modern accent, expressing the power and mystery of the dragon as a whole. Oil painting, plaster, oil painting, 24K gold, structural paste on a 35.5 x 45.5 x 6.3 cm canvas. The frame band is about 8 cm. The frame size is about 51.5x61.5cm. ¥ 3,850,000 Mazzi Fine
Total art to improve your lifestyle to luxury
The background is also unique. He actually said he was an Armani executive chef before he became an artist. He showed me a recipe note from his chef days. Many of the recipes drawn by incorporating illustrations into the sketchbook look like a study drawn by a painter or a blueprint of architecture. On the other hand, it is strange that his work, which makes use of various rare materials, looks like a kind of "cooking".
"Both chefs and artists create sensations and creativity and inspire people. They just use different media. I used to be a taste craftsman, a food artist, but now beauty. A craftsman, a beauty artist. His career as a chef gives him an elegant and stylish vision of creation. "
Through his work, he expresses the world view of "legend and myth" and "fantasy".
"I'm inspired not only by mythical and legendary creatures, but also by the whole nature and the science that surrounds us."
It is famous that Art Nouveau, which draws a graceful curve like a plant, was influenced by the Japanese taste = "Japonisme" that was popular in Europe in the latter half of the 19th century, but his work that makes heavy use of natural motifs is also somehow it makes me feel japanese influence.
"Japan is affecting the world, just as the moon is affecting the earth. I have a mysterious and solemn sense of Japan. The rising sun, where tradition and innovation coexist, is a symbol of excellence. For me, who was greatly influenced by Japan, I couldn't think of opening MAZZI FINE ART outside of Japan. "
In June of this year, we opened a gallery in a quiet residential area of Osaka. Although it is a pure Japanese house that doubles as an atelier, office, and residence, the work is in perfect harmony with the quiet space.
"We make it in the best condition with the light of Japanese architecture that is not too bright, but we can also make it by receiving orders for color change and size adjustment according to the place to decorate. Hotels, lounges, hospitals, etc. In addition to wedding halls, they are also displayed at events in the movie and fashion industry. "
He revolutionized the art world with a new concept and easily achieved the impossible in less than two years. The road has just begun. I asked him about his future activities.
"Currently, we are preparing a new work and a new atelier in Italy. Next year, we are planning an opportunity to actually touch the work such as an exhibition. In the future, we will collaborate with various brands to improve lifestyle and status. I would like to propose total art that will improve to luxury. Please pay attention. "
Since many single works, which are all hand-made and the number of works is limited, are often sold out, we also accept custom-made works. The production period is about 3 to 12 months. Reservation required for gallery visit.
